November 2019 €“ Saint-Gobain, a key manufacturer of building & construction materials & products headquartered in France, entered into definitive agreement to acquire Continental Building Products, a US-based construction materials manufacturer. It is reported that the company is in its last stage of the acquisition process. Saint-Gobain got the shareholders approval in January 2020.

February 2020 €“ Eagle Materials Inc., a key player in construction material business in North America, has cleared its intention to separate its light and heavy materials business in summer 2020. The board of directors has approved the plan in 2019. The light material business which includes gypsum wallboard products is set to be renamed as American Gypsum Company.
